Great Tutorials

Hey, looking to get into computer art art but dont know how? Check these out:

Derek Yu's Pixel Tutorial
A great little tutorial with everything you need to know to create simple masterpieces. The creator has been a pixel artist since the birth of pixel art, and is one of the greater pixelers of his time.

Mark's Pixel Art Tutorial
Another good one. Can help you become a pixel artist with GraphicsGale (my recommended program).

Pixel Zone Tutorials
Has links to just about every tutorial you'll ever need, from shading to tiling. Requires some simple knowledge.

Check these out, they are very helpful to the ametuer pixeler.

GraphicsGale

There are tons of digital art programs on the web, and its sometimes hard to find a good one. That's what you have me for! I found a gem. It is called GraphicsGale. It's easy to use but has complex functions to create anything. It has a huge customizable color palette. It has tools ranging from the simple pencil to the line tool to the most complex texture function. It has moveable and resizable windows like the Palette and Preview windows. It has a handy Cut-and-Paste tool for making different types of the same image. And here's the best part- it's all free here. There also is a shareware edition that can make Windows icons and cursors, plus animated GIFs. But thats not helpful to the average pixel artist. Check it out - it's a great program for all computer artists.

Colin's Computer Image Blog!
